Printed Executive Pens

Ever since I could remember, I have wanted to write. Sitting under a tree in our garden as a child reading Tom Sawyer or Treasure Island. I was going to write a best seller before I was twenty. Well it never happened, although I do have a couple of books under my belt; well several piled against the wall actually. However the love of writing has never left me, I hate to think how many printed pens and sheets of paper I have got through over the years, but all in a good cause.

In the early years I always used a well made printed fountain pen, the maker was either a name like Parker or Waterman and they lasted because of the quality of manufacture. Later it was more modern roller-ball type executive pens but still of a high standard such as Cross or Lucerne. Although I now transfer my writing to the computer, nearly all my note taking and ideas are written down on bits of paper that litter my desk. My collection of pens are stacked in old coffee jars within easy reach, some are just plain biros or black fine markers but others are real quality printed executive pens and some of those have come my way as free promotional gifts. I don't get many people giving me presents so if something like this drops into my lap I am likely to take notice.

For those of you who are not sure about what I mean by executive or promotional, I will make it all clear for you. A printed executive pen is one that might be sent out as a gift to promote your goods and services. It may be stylish, plain practical or just funny. Often it will have personalised information printed on it. An Executive pen is similar but has the mark of quality about it, often in striking metals it will sometimes be engraved and other tmes printed if corporate colours are important. It may also come in a stylish container or box. The good news is that if you wanted to send clients printed executive pens they are not going to cost as much as you may expect. It is also more likely, because you are sending them to specific clients such as company directors, purchasing managers or senior partners, that the return in terms of added potential would be greater. Giving free cheap pens away at a trade show is not a bad idea, but you want to appear slightly more up market when it comes to the important contacts so please consider this when selecting your printed executive pens.

Another bit of good news is that the quality pen makers that I mentioned at the start of this article are still around. They have kept abreast of modern trends and provide printed executive pens that are still made to high standards, yet remain affordable.  What you are aiming for is products that bear a name that has built up a reputation for reliability and dare I say it "Class".  When they are somehow linked with your company by having your name engraved on it, then you are making a clear statement that you share a belief in quality. Nobody is going to appreciate something that breaks after five minutes or has no real lifespan. It may even do your company reputation a disservice and hinder rather than help sales. However sending someone a nice quality Parker or Sterling Executive pen in an attractive case should put you one step ahead of your competitors.

I am just having a tea break and whilst I was on the subject, decided to sort through my collection in the coffee jars. It appears I have two Watermans and one Parker, plus something that looks like a spaceship from an early science fiction movie.  The Parker and the spaceship are both printed promotional pens but from different ends of the spectrum. The Parker came as a gift from a firm of solicitors; the rocket thing was given away at my local business fete years ago.  As it happens my argument is strengthened by the fact that the Parker still works well, but my spaceship ran out of fuel ages ago.

I could carry on telling you that you can get printed executive pens in all shades of black, silver or gold. That they can have caps, twist open, have push button technology or come in gift sets with matching propelling pencils;  oh! I just have. However this sort of information is readily available in the product descriptions of the many pens you will find on our website. If there is anything that we have missed out please contact us and we will happily assist you in any way that we can from concept, design, printing and engraving options to choice of pen and how best to achieve maximum exposure for your promotional requirements.

Try to see it not just from your perspective but also from the viewpoint of the person who you are giving it to. Will they appreciate printed metal pens, use them and recommend others to contact you? Building up links is the name of the game. Giving away promotional items is now regular business practice. The more excellent the gift  the more you can hope to impress.

Like most of us I am a sucker for quality, I may not have a prestige car but it does not stop me wanting one. However quality comes in many forms, not just in material objects. Quality in writing (something I have not yet quite achieved), quality in the service you provide or quality of character in a person. We recognize it when we see it, although it may be different in each person's perception. However if anyone wants to give me a printed executive pen in smoke silver with black ribbing, I am not going to stop you. You can even put your name on the side and I will bring it out regularly at meetings and flash it around for everyone to see. That has got to be good value advertising in anyone's book; and as a supplier of promotional and executive pens with print you can imagine how many meetings I attend.
